The objects of yesterday and today are presented in parallel with the information panels: the equipment of the sewer man and the tools that guarantee his safety, as well as the models of the cleaning machines that the visitor will find later, life-size, in working galleries. The visitor puts his steps in those of the sewer. His journey is organized in two large loops: the first where he discovers the essential work of cleaning and maintenance in the sewers, the second where he becomes aware of the challenges of water regulation and treatment in the service of the environment and ecology.

Dive into the underground history of the capital at the Musée des Égouts de Paris, a unique place that reveals behind-the-scenes of one of the oldest and most complex sewerage networks in the world. Located in the heart of the active galleries of the Parisian sewer system, the museum offers a sensory and educational immersion within historical infrastructures still in operation.
The course, about 45 to 60 minutes long, invites visitors to explore 500 meters of galleries located under the Quai d'Orsay, near the bridge of Alma. These spaces, where the city’s wastewater circulates daily, bear witness to the technical and social evolution of Paris since the 19th century.
The museum plans adaptations for people with reduced mobility, with an elevator allowing access to the galleries. The constant temperature of 13°C and the characteristic odours of the sewers recall the authenticity of the site.
