European Night of Museums 2026: the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain opens its new spaces at the Palais-Royal for free On the occasion of the European Night of Museums, the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art opens its doors free of charge and invites the public to discover its new place in the heart of Paris, Place du Palais-Royal.For one evening, the Fondation Cartier offers a visit experience accessible to all and faithful to the spirit of the event. The public will be able to discover or rediscover General Exhibition, which puts into perspective more than forty years of contemporary creation through works from the Collection and artists who have marked the history of the Cartier Foundation. The opportunity also to freely explore the new building designed by Jean Nouvel, whose architecture offers multiple ways to relate with the works.Throughout the visit, the exhibition’s cultural mediators offer Éclair tours every 30 minutes on each floor and accompany visitors to answer questions and encourage discussion.The public is also invited to discover La Manufacture, the brand new space of the Cartier Foundation dedicated to plastic practice and mediation through gesture. Workshops and introductory times in free access are offered throughout the evening, offering everyone a way to relate with the works through practice.
